The history of the 14th Wehrmacht Panzer Division was written by its veteran Rolf Grams, the former commander of the 64th motorcycle battalion, which was part of the division. The 14th Panzer Division was formed in Dresden on August 15, 1940. It received baptism of fire during a campaign in Yugoslavia in April 1941. Then it was transferred to Poland and participated in the invasion of the Soviet Union. The division fought from the Bug to the Don, completing the 1941 campaign on the lines of the famous Mius Front.
