The monograph by Professor Colette Sirat, repeatedly reprinted in various languages, is an introduction to the history of Jewish medieval philosophy. The book is based on an analysis of sources (both published and existing only in manuscript form), considered in their historical and ideological context. The work is distinguished by the breadth of the material and represents not only famous, but also little-known thinkers, and is a great teaching tool. The translation of this book fills the gap in the Russian-language scientific literature, where so far not a single consolidated work on the history of medieval Jewish philosophy has been published.
