The monograph discusses materials on animal husbandry and hunting among the Slavs on the eve of the formation of Ancient Russia - Volyntsev-Romny and Raykovets monuments, the last quarter of the 1st millennium AD. About 40 archaeozoological complexes and tools characterizing both industries have been analyzed. A significant similarity in animal husbandry has been established, differences in the meaning of hunting. The likely impacts on animal husbandry from neighbors were examined.
