The book considers physical experiments in which the detection of an effect is reduced to the detection of a small force or moment of forces acting on a macroscopic body (experiments with trial bodies); threshold sensitivity of mechanical oscillator to action of regular external force is analyzed. The effects of light friction and radiometric vibrational instability are considered. Described is an optimal strategy for measuring a small regular force acting on a mechanical oscillator.
