Charles Lalo - French scientist, aesthetician, professor at the Sorbonne, one of the creators of modern sociology of art and psychology of art. Lalo argued that in the twentieth century, aesthetics should abandon impressionistic criticism and return beauty standards to society. This publication is an undoubted bibliographic rarity - the work has not been published in Russian for more than a century, and now finally the reader has the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of an outstanding aesthetics.
