Anthropology as a doctrine of man refers to essential aspects of theology. Man became a topic already in the early Christian period (I-V centuries). The teaching of the Ancient Church about man, that is, early Christian anthropology, is not a set of fixed formulas. The early Church Fathers have an active synthesis of philosophical ideas with the sayings of the Holy Scriptures.
