The book describes an experiment to photograph the surface of Venus by the Venera-9 and Venera-10 stations, as well as the results of a study of the resulting panoramas. An overview of modern ideas about Venus and the results of previous studies is given; the design of the descent vehicles, the scheme of descent and information transmission are described; description is given of television equipment and digital image processing methods.
