The book "Paper Wars" is the first collection of articles and materials in Russian devoted to such a curious phenomenon of fantastic literature as "military fiction" or "military utopia." Along with the history of the development of Western and Russian military science fiction, special attention is paid in the book to Soviet "defense science fiction" of the 1920-1930s and its most prominent representatives - N. Shpanov, P. Pavlenko, V. Vladko.
