This book is a significant revision of the Persian Language Textbook, well known to the reader (Ivanov, 1999). In the new edition, the previous scheme for submitting material has been corrected, a number of sections have been replaced, revised and expanded. Each text is accompanied by a dictionary, commentary and exercises. In the preparation of the book, Iranian textbooks for primary and secondary schools, Persian textbooks for foreigners published in Iran, and other Persian and closely related textbooks were used. A characteristic feature of this textbook is its focus on modern Persian spelling, modern Tahriri style and international transcription based on the Latin alphabet. The textbook is intended for first-year philologists of higher educational institutions.
