Classification and main characteristics of medical imaging images are given. Physical bases of X-ray, radionuclide, magnetic resonance, ultrasonic, thermal and other methods of obtaining images of internal structures of human body are described. Schemes of modern X-ray machines, computer X-ray, radionuclide and magnetic resonance tomographs, as well as ultrasonic scanners, thermal imagers and endoscopes are described.
