The experience of teaching the Russian language suggests that the assimilation of stress poses great difficulties for non-Russians. The mobility of Russian stress seems incomprehensible to foreign students, and also causes a lot of trouble for the Russians themselves. This study shows that the mobility of Russian stress is not chaotic and not unlimited, that the number of types of mobile stress in Russian is small. The book formulates stress rules that allow you to determine the place of stress of any form of a word, depending on its morphological characteristics. The book contains a description of stress in Russian inflection and word formation, an analysis of some theoretical issues of Russian accentology, as well as an appendix that provides a list of words with mobile stress.
