This work is the result of four years of field historical and archaeological research to identify new documents on the history of pre-Muslim Central Asia, led by the author of the Khorezm archaeological expedition of the Moscow branch of the IIMK of the USSR Academy of Sciences. S.P. Tolstov in 1949 was awarded the State Prize of the USSR for this book. The building is equipped with tone and color illustrations, as well as maps and diagrams.
