In the 21st century, people encountered a phenomenon that was later called the "Mor gene." Its carriers began to hear voices from another world, and then discovered superpowers in themselves. The owners of the gene imagined themselves omnipotent and this gave rise to a wave of crimes. All forces were thrown into the fight against them: an organization was created to capture them, special prisons were built and effective weapons were developed. Many willingly went to mercenaries and began to catch carriers of the gene, including Blake Backer. On his account almost a hundred successfully caught or executed on the spot superhumans. He never doubted that all the owners of the gene are scumbags. So he thought until his last assignment.
