"People's Russia: Year-round legends, beliefs, customs and proverbs of the Russian people" is a folklore and ethnographic work in which the author supplements his more than twenty years of observations of the life of the Russian peasantry with printed materials on Russian and Slavic ethnography. The book reveals the history of holidays, the bizarre interweaving of the pagan world and Christianity in Russia, the views of the Slavs on nature and the world order.
