For the first time in Russian educational literature, an attempt was made to give a systematic presentation of the history of the Netherlands from antiquity to the present: the formation of provinces, revolution and liberation war, the emergence of the Republic of the United Provinces, the formation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the formation of the parliamentary system, the formation and development of the colonial empire, etc. For students of historical faculties of universities, pedagogical universities and institutes of foreign languages, where the course of history of foreign countries is studied.
