This volume covers the development of projects and the history of the creation for the Navy of the world's first combat ekranoplanes of the chief designer Alekseev and their service in the Navy of the Soviet Union. The difficult path of project development, construction, testing and complex refinement of the design of the world's first combat ekranoplan "Eaglet" is shown. The role of the leadership of the USSR Ministry of Shipbuilding Industry in the creation of combat ekranoplanes and the complex relationship between the leadership of the ministry and the chief designer of the Orlyonok ekranoplan Alekseev are shown. The role of Alekseev's successors - the chief designers of combat ekranoplane projects and the leaders of the Central Design Bureau for SEC, as well as the main specialists in the areas of the multifaceted process of creating this complex equipment - is shown.
