This manual summarizes the history of exploration, the main stages of its development; gives the structure of the modern intelligence and counterintelligence" bodies of West Germany; indicate the main directions, forms and methods of subversive activities of intelligence of Germany; issues are disclosed. related to the selection, recruitment, training and abandonment of agents, the use of operational equipment; the subversive work of the intelligence bodies of the Federal Republic of Germany against parts of the Soviet Army, Soviet institutions and citizens of the USSR abroad, as well as the subversive activities of West German intelligence on the territory of the Soviet Union, are considered.
