The monograph examines more than fifty Persian-speaking and Turkic-speaking works, as well as travel records and reports of Russian ambassadors and travelers who visited Central Asia in the 16th-18th centuries. From these works, the most important information is extracted about the socio-economic, political and cultural life, ethnic history of Uzbeks and other peoples of Central Asia, about their political, trade and cultural relations with Russia and other countries.
