The collection publishes the works of participants in international readings "Citizen of Spain: a look from the XXI century," which took place on May 18, 2016 at the branch of the State Public Historical Library - the Center for Socio-Political History, and the bibliographic catalog of the book exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the beginning of tragic events in Spain. The range of topics in the presented articles is wide and covers both historical memory, sources for studying the war in Spain and modern ideas about it, and the role in it of individuals, parties, and movements, foreign volunteers, key events that influenced the outcome of the war, and its significance for the subsequent history of the XX century.
