Dedicated to the study of the history of the formation and development of the renovationist movement of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Stavropol Territory and the Terek. It is based on a wide range of documents extracted from archival and museum repositories in a number of regions of Russia. The prerequisites and reasons for the formation of renovationism in the region, the connection of renovationism with the church revolutionary movement and the ideas of Christian socialism, the peculiarities of the process of institutionalization and the activities of the renovationist movement are revealed.
