Milos Glavsa's book "The Sleeping Awakens" is a fascinating and vivid story about the trip of two Czechoslovak journalists in Algeria in 1956. They drove many hundreds of kilometers across the country and tell about their impressions of the journey vividly and interestingly in this book. The reader gets acquainted with some pages of the history of Algeria, with a peculiar culture, customs of the people, who these days are waging a fierce struggle against the French colonialists for their national independence.
