This book is published in a series telling about the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-88. It is dedicated to the front-line everyday life of Abadan, a city that can be called Iranian Leningrad. Located on the banks of the Arvand River (Shatt al-Arab) bordering Iraq, this city was of paramount strategic importance, and its capture could be the key to the victory of Saddam forces over the young Islamic Republic. The Iraqis closed the blockade ring around Abadan, but were never able to overcome the heroic resistance of its defenders.
