The new philosophical encyclopedia in 4 volumes was prepared by the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Social and Scientific Foundation. This is the second domestic publication of this kind and scale. The first was the Philosophical Encyclopedia in 5 volumes (M.: Soviet Encyclopedia, I960-1970), which included more than 4,500 articles, which played a positive role and in some cases still retains scientific value.
