The world order based on reason determines the policies of states. For this, data collected and analyzed by an independent expert community, which is trusted by all citizens, are involved. Such was the political ideal that philosophers have dreamed of since the 17th century. Everything has changed, and today people have little faith in the experience and neutrality of scientists. Emotions began to rule the world. Now they are pointing policy directions. How and why did this happen? Why did politics become so capricious and warlike? What does it promise us? These and other questions are answered by William Davies - a professor of political economy, a sociologist who teaches at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
