A lonely, introverted girl named Page Smith takes a job at a bookstore during her Christmas break from college, thinking that she can study, read plenty of books, and not be bothered by people for an entire month. She visualizes a cozy Christmas, with a decorated little bookstore and tons of Christmas cheer.That idea goes out the window when she arrives and finds a dying tourist town, a grumpy bookstore owner who hasn't seen his son in years, and a stray puppy with a love for destroying shoes.
