The study "The Devil in Everyday Life, Legends and Literature of the Middle Ages" stands apart in the work of the most popular writer of the Silver Age, Alexander Amfiteatrov (1862-1938). Pushing back against Italian professor Arturo Graf's book "The Devil," which focused on theological literature, the Amphitheater went significantly further than its original source. He made an attempt to study the life of the devil in the human mind throughout the cultural space of the Middle Ages - from the moment his detailed biography developed at the dawn of Christianity to the days when the idea that gave him life almost outlived its usefulness.
