There is no need to talk about how systematically collected and processed information about individual participants is necessary for a successful study of the history of the revolutionary movement. The absence of this kind of information not only often leads to annoying inaccuracies in trifles, but also actually deprives researchers of the opportunity to study with any exhaustive completeness the quantitative and qualitative indicators characterizing the composition of the participants in the movement. Researchers, instead of generalizing a more or less significant mass of facts, in many cases are still forced to use the illustrative method, operating with a limited number of surnames and based on relatively few information, far-reaching conclusions about the number of participants in the movement, their social affiliation, property status, etc. For the time being, this could be put up with, but the development of science increasingly urgently requires increased attention to the collection of materials on personalities, to the verification, systematization and statistical processing of these materials.
