Since Belarus gained independence in 1991, views on the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania have undergone significant changes, there is a gradual rejection of politicized dogmas and Soviet "custom" stereotypes. Today it is difficult to find Belarus, which would not have heard that in the Middle Ages our ancestors were called Litvinas, who considered the Grand Duchy of Lithuania their homeland. But in modern conditions, when the neighboring Republic of Letuva continues to be stereotypically meant by Lithuania, it is difficult for Belarus, unprepared from a historical point of view, to associate itself with the annals of Litvinov ON. This work publishes extensive systematized historical material as proof of the primary right of Belarusians to the historical heritage of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
