As a child my greatest pleasure was to be anywhere as long as it was 'outside', and I remember that if all else failed, Mother Nature was always there for me, the one certainty in my life, so this little book with its homage to trees, moon, seasons etc. encompasses whimsical references to semi precious stones which has a striking resemblance to human counterparts 'The Rolling Stone' if one has the imagination! Or the philosophy of 'Master Kung' under the cherry blossom tree, and, who has not come across a relic like 'Granny' with her simplistic wisdom and outlook on life who remains untouched by but very aware of 'modern' life, no doubt we could all do with one like her! As for the unfortunate young man pitchforked into the most unrelenting theatre of war that the Royal Navy had ever encountered 'For King and u0026 Country', how Nature played her part in that macabre dance of death played out by ships of war in the icy, mountainous grey green waves of the North Atlantic Ocean, and subsequently engulfed all seamen whatever their Country, creed or colour, they all succumbed to the same watery grave, and yet, that same 'Nature' provided shelter, cover, food and water for the survivors as they tried to maintain a semblance of normality amidst all the chaos around them, and when once again all became peaceful for a while, we again turn to Nature the ever weaving thread that binds it all together once more. So we finish where we began with the tree, now it is renewal because the person buried beneath this tree will ensure that she will prosper in her 'space to grow' and she in turn will 'stand protect him' eternally interwoven in the tapestry of life.
