Encyclopedia of World History cannot be reduced to one volume. After serious reflection, it was decided to divide the text chronologically into two independent volumes. 1800 was adopted as a conditional dividing line, since the date of any particular event, such as the French Revolution of 1789, would unjustifiably focus on the history of only one part of the world.
