The monograph examines the experience of creating and developing free economic zones (FEZ) in China as one of the most important tools for solving the problems of the national economy, increasing business activity and accelerating the development of territories. Approaches are proposed to determine the criteria and factors that determine the optimal models of FEZ under certain prerequisites available in the territory intended for development by the zone. The trajectories of the subsequent development of the FEZ were analyzed, approaches of the state policy of using the advantages of the FEZ for the medium and long term economic development were proposed.
