The famous trilogy of Alexei Nikolaevich Tolstoy (1882-1945) "Walking through the agony" traces the fate of representatives of the Russian intelligentsia during and after the 1917 revolution. The book is decorated with dozens of black and white illustrations made by Kukryniksy. Three artists performed under this pseudonym: Mikhail Vasilievich Kupriyanov, Porfiry Nikitich Krylov and Nikolai Alexandrovich Sokolov. They became famous as outstanding masters of satirical drawing. In this edition, readers can get acquainted with their illustrations, made in a realistic manner. At the end of the book are sketches of Kukryniksy's drawings for the novel by A. N. Tolstoy.
