This textbook contains a complete Latin course and is intended for students of lyceums and gymnasiums. It can also be used in humanitarian universities to study the Latin language. All the material of the textbook is divided into 44 lessons (Lectiones), containing completed (but different in volume) grammatical topics, words for memorization (mandatory lexical minimum), exercises and texts. Latin proverbs and winged expressions (Proverbia et dictiones) are also included in most lessons. After the 44th lesson, texts are given for additional reading. In addition, the textbook includes material for non-audit work ("Otium post negotium"): plays, songs, riddles. Many lessons are provided with illustrative material. Latin-Russian and Russian-Latin dictionaries contain the vocabulary required to translate textbook texts.
