Fleischmann (Gustav Friedrich Wilhelm Fleischmann) - an outstanding specialist in dairy farming. Born in 1837. He studied natural sciences at universities in Würzburg, Erlangen and Munich. In 1863 he was appointed teacher of natural sciences at the Meming Real School and the head of the local agricultural experimental station. Since 1867 he was rector of the Lindau Technical School, he, together with Baron Giese in the period 1867-72. led the alpine experimental station in Immenstadt. In 1876 he was invited to Raden (in Mecklenburg) for the construction of the first German experimental dairy station with a special dairy school for male personnel. In 1885 he was appointed professor of agriculture at the University of Königsberg.
