The book "The Symbolist Movement in Literature" (1899), containing essays on the works of Balzac, Mérimée, Gaultier, Baudelaire, Mallarmé, Verlaine, Rimbaud and other French poets and writers, was of great importance for the development of literature, was reprinted many times and influenced Yeats, T. S. Eliot, Joyce and others. The book is published in Russian for the first time.
