This work considers a relatively chronologically short period, which is distinguished by internal heterogeneity and deep contradictions that determined the directions of church policy for more than one subsequent decade. The monograph addresses the problems of establishing independent governing bodies in the North Caucasus, a set of material problems that have arisen with this; the process of overcoming the prevailing religious ideas in the absence of spiritual power among the local Cossacks and subsequent proper control in the sphere of church life was analyzed.
