This book provides a comprehensive account of the ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka prior to the signing of the peace accord on July 29, 1987. The purpose of this book is to document accurately and fairly the historical perspective of Sinhalese Tamil relationships in Sri Lanka. It will be shown that the roots of the ethnic conflict can be traced to early historical times.
