The Tao Te Jing treatise is a unique monument of human thought that laid the foundation of Taoism. Created more than two thousand years ago, the book is still an inexhaustible source of wisdom and reflection on being, justice, the nature of good and evil. The translation presented in this edition was made by Daniil Konishi (Konishi Masutaro), a Japanese Russian scholar, a graduate of the seminary at the Russian Theological Academy in Tokyo. The collection also includes Konishi's articles that will help the reader to reveal the essence of Lao Tzu's teachings, and aphorisms of an ancient Chinese thinker translated by Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy.
