Traveling in the Ussuri Territory was the beginning of Przhevalsky's research activities. He was not the first traveler in the Ussuri region, but he can rightfully be considered the first explorer to give a comprehensive description of this region. The journey differed from the expeditions made before him not only in the direction of the routes, but also in the nature of the research. N.M. Przhevalsky was the first to give a broad geographical description of the Ussuri Territory, its nature, flora and fauna, climate, as well as the life and activities of local residents and settlers who came here.
