The surroundings of St. Petersburg are commonly associated with world-famous architectural and landscape masterpieces: Peterhof. Pavlovsky, Tsarskoye Selo, Gatchina. Many monographs, albums and brochures are devoted to them. The daily life of ordinary inhabitants of the suburbs of the Northern capital, who did not live in palaces at all, usually remains in the shadows. The proposed book by the famous local historian Sergei Glezerov fills this gap.
