Brest Fortress. The history of the heroic defense of the fortress is an example of the courage and self-sacrifice of Soviet soldiers at the very beginning of the war. Due to miscalculations of the political leadership, the garrison was almost completely destroyed at the very first moment of the attack. But one can imagine that if the fortress were prepared for an attack, provided with weapons, food and water, then the damage it inflicted on the Germans would be a hundred times higher, which, perhaps, could affect the outcome of the entire war.
