For the first time in Russian science, cartographic sources of different eras are widely presented, reflecting the most important stages of the resettlement of ancient peoples in the North-West Caucasus. Some of the cartographic sources of Atlas were previously published by the author in his publications: "Essays on the History of the Abazins of the Late 18th - 19th Centuries" (Sukhum, 1992), "2000 Years in the Historical Homeland" (Stavropol, 2000), "Abazins. Pages of ancient and medieval history" (Cherkessk, 2006), which, along with others, became the basis of the proposed publication.
