Published for the first time in Russian, the philosophical and mystical work of Louis Claude de Saint-Martin "Man of Desire" is the first part of his worldview trilogy, which includes the works "The New Man" and "The Guide of the Spirit Man." For the transfer of "Man of Desire" in Russian, translator Vladimir Tkachenko-Gildebrandt used the genre of rhythmic prose, since this composition was read by the author himself to the accompaniment of the piano, which was reported at that time by Russian admirers of the Unknown Philosopher. The translation was carried out according to the posthumous London edition of Louis Claude de Saint-Martin's Man of Desire from 1808. Among the spiritual writers of his time, the prominent French mystic Louis Claude de Saint-Martin (1743-1803), or "The Unknown Philosopher," stands alone. The reason for this is its original and very difficult to convey in other languages ​ ​ a way of expounding Trinitarian Christian truths framed by the symbols of chivalric Frank Freemasonry, coming from Jean-Baptiste Villermoz (1730-1824), and Kabbalistic emblems.
