The book is devoted to the history of a large medieval state located on the territory of modern Russia and Kazakhstan - the Nogai Horde, which arose during the collapse of the Golden Horde in the 15th century. and ceased to exist in the first third of the 17th century. A detailed study of the political history of the Nogai state is accompanied by essays on individual problems: territory, population, economy, culture, etc. The ties of the Nogai Horde with neighboring states and peoples, including the Tatar and Central Asian khanates, the Kazakh Khanate, Turkey, and the Caucasus, are considered. A special essay is devoted to the characterization of Nogai-Russian relations. The appendix gives genealogical schemes of the Mangyt nobility - the ruling clan of the Nogai. The study was carried out on the basis of archival materials, many of which are first introduced into scientific circulation, as well as Eastern and Western European sources, Russian chronicles and other documents.
