The first thing to remember when you take to read this book is that it was written by the author already in 1966. The fact is that the methods of studying the animal world then and now differ markedly. At least, this is what I hope that modern Greenpeace trends are still real. Otherwise, of course, everything described is perceived quite cruel today. It is clear that a person needs to explore everything that he can reach in one way or another, but the number of victims of such studies is still very annoying. There is a lot of value in this book in the observations of the author with the team over the animals of different species, which until that time no one had even heard of or had any idea of. Honestly, it is interesting in parallel with the book to search the Internet for photos and videos about the animals mentioned. But even today there is not enough information about everyone. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the author tells and describes the specimens he met very picturesquely, so it is very interesting to read, if not to dwell on how these meetings with the most merciless predator - man - basically ended.
