A large place in the Encyclopedia, of course, is given to aircraft (LA) - aircraft, gliders, rotary-wing aircraft, etc. Similar data (classification, structure and principles of operation, characteristics) are given in the series of articles on aircraft engines. The articles on aviation weapons consider its individual types (small arms, bomber, missile), weapons control systems, some issues of combat use of aircraft. The range of issues considered in the aircraft operation cycle refers to airfields, aircraft maintenance, etc. The Encyclopedia has about 600 biographical articles. Events and facts, geographical names, as well as the names of enterprises, organizations, educational institutions, etc. are given mainly as of 1991, when the Encyclopedia manuscript was handed over to the set.
