The book explores Ukrainian folk toy as a type of decorative and applied art and as a cultural phenomenon, clarifies the origins and highlights the history of toys in Ukraine, outlines regions, cells, presents the names of masters. Separately, attention is paid to the most common toys in the traditional culture of Ukrainians - wooden, clay, made of plant materials (straw, cattails, vines...), fabric, cheese, paper. Methods of their formation and decoration, functional properties, features of plastic, color, ornamentation are considered. Specific and general ethnic features of Ukrainian folk toys have been identified.
