The book acquaints the reader with the main stages of the life and work of the outstanding Russian philosopher, publicist and poet Vladimir Sergeevich Solovyov (1853-1900). Analyzing the views of the thinker, the author seeks to explain their strongest influence on the subsequent development of philosophy in Russia, as well as the reason for their relevance today. The author explores in the most detail the philosopher's approach to the problem of the relationship between religion, culture and politics, since now this problem is no less acute than during the time of Solovyov.
