The collection includes primary sources - memoirs, diaries, letters, materials of official investigations related to the events of the "era of palace coups." Dramatic episodes will take place in front of the reader, starting with the intrigues surrounding the death of Peter I and ending with the murder of Paul I. Most of the materials included in the book were not reprinted during the years of Soviet power, some are published in Russian for the first time.
