Most of us never ask: Could Jesus have sinned if th' had wanted to? If we considered it, our immediate reaction would likely be: He was the Son of God and part of the Trinity. Surely He could not have sinned If it were so, what would the significance of His temptations by Satan be if He could not have sinned? If He could not have sinned, Satan would have known it and would not have even tried to get Him to sin. This book debates this issue and concludes that Jesus could have sinned if He had wanted to but did not. The theological and practical implications are far more significant than expected: Jesus was human, just as we are, but He did not have our sintul nature. How could He have resisted sin? The answer lies in His close relationship with the Father. If Jesus could be sinless due to His closeness to the Father, surely, we should also be able to overcome sin if we were to be close to the Father. Therein lies the challenge.
